👤 About Me

The human behind the terminal. Yes, a real one. Mostly caffeine.

Who Am I?

Well, where do I begin? OK, well?

Who am I? Now that's an age-old question asked by the masses. Well, the truth is, I'm just a guy in the same techie trenches you probably are in right now, that is, if you found this site while searching feverishly for the answer to what might seem an insurmountable issue, all while feeling the knot in your stomach growing and the sweat building on your brow. If you are in this profession long enough, you will undoubtedly experience moments like that. We have all been there, and we all get through it. So try to relax; we are in this together. Now take a deep breath. We are going to make it through. I won't say we will be unscathed, but the knowledge gained from the toil is worth the price of admission, trust me!

Linux vs. Windows: A Friendly Rivalry

All in good fun. Windows pays a lot of bills, and I have rebooted many of them.

Why do Linux users never fear the Blue Screen of Death?
Because they already know exactly what went wrong. It's in /var/log, and it's very rude about it.
Windows: "Updating... 27%. Do not turn off your computer."
Linux: uptime — up 412 days, 3 hours. Nobody asked, but it's nice to share.
In Linux, everything is a file.
In Windows, everything is a pop-up asking if you're sure you want to continue.
Why did the Windows user bring a ladder to the Linux meetup?
Someone said the root access was way up there.
Windows: "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
Linux: sudo systemctl restart the one thing that broke. The rest of the machine stays up and rolls its eyes.
What's the Windows Registry?
A place where plain text files go to become confusing.
Why do Windows users make terrible poker players?
Their hand is always (Not Responding).
I dual-boot Windows and Linux.
Windows is for the games. Linux is for everything else. The bootloader is the marriage counselor.
Windows asks "Are you sure you want to delete this?" three times.
Linux asks nothing: rm means rm. (Please back up first.)
What do you call a Windows computer that never needs a restart?
A Linux computer.
Windows: Ctrl+Alt+Delete, the three-finger salute.
Linux: kill -9. One command. No mercy. Zero drama.
A Windows user says: "It won't install. It says I need to restart to finish installing the last update."
A Linux user says: "I have installed 40 things since breakfast, and my terminal is still on the same line."
⚠️ Disclaimer: No Windows machines were harmed in the making of these jokes. Some were rebooted. A few were rebooted twice. All of them were asked politely first.
